Trash barrels and recycling bins are located behind each building for your use. Trash and recycling bins will be labeled by unit number; please only use your designated receptacles. All trash must be in closed trash bags; no loose items may be put in the barrels. Bring your trash and recycling out to the curb for pick-up on Tuesdays. Bring your receptacles back behind the building after they have been emptied. If trash receptacles are not returned to the building by Wednesday at 10:30am, you will be charged a fee. If you leave any household trash and/or large items in or around the building or grounds, you will be charged for their removal and disposal; the minimum charge is $25.00 per bag.
Each unit is equipped with a washer/dryer.
With a valid Port Property Management parking permit, you may park in any spot within the designated lots (Lot 1 – 11), located on Margaret and Mussey Street. Parking is on a first come first serve basis. A valid PPM parking permit (with the PPM logo) must be in clear view of the front windshield at all times or you will likely be towed. During the winter months, we plow after every storm. If we are plowing, you will need to move your car out of the lot from 9 am until 3 pm (unless the city of South Portland has called a daytime parking ban). Please be sure to comply with the snow removal policy, as failure to do so will likely result in your vehicle being towed at your own expense. See our Parking Policy.
Per the City of South Portland, from November 1st until April 1st, you cannot park on-street between midnight and 6 am. You may be ticketed and/or be towed.
Utilities & Services
The tenant is responsible for setting up their own gas & electric accounts. For electricity, please contact Central Maine Power (CMP) at 1-800-750-4000. For heat (natural gas), please contact Unitil at 1-866-933-3821; we recommend enrolling in the monthly budget program. PPM will set up your water/sewer account. For more information about water/sewer, you can check out our provider’s website: http://www.yesenergymanagement.com/. If any utility, Internet, cable, phone, etc. company needs access to a secured area of the building, please call our Non-Emergency Maintenance Line at (207) 761-0832, ext. 1 at least 24 hours in advance. Leave your name, your new address, and the connection date. Please do not schedule any utilities to be turned on during the weekend or after hours if you need PPM for access or assistance.
Use of Rear Steps:
The rear steps are the upstairs apartment’s second means of egress in case of an emergency. No items are to be stored on the back stairway or landing. No grills are to be stored and/or used on the back stairway or landing at any time.
